Freezin' for a Reason: I'm Doing the Super Plunge in January 2022

I know plenty of people out there are tired of seeing me do crazy stuff, but this time it's for a good cause, because in January 2022, I will be a Super Plunger for the Maryland Polar Bear Plunge and jumping in the wintry waters of the Chesapeake Bay 24 times over 24 hours (yes, even overnight) to raise awareness and money for Special Olympics Maryland.

We start on the morning of Friday, January 28, and go around the clock through the morning of Saturday, January 29, at Sandy Point State Park.

My goal is to raise $10,000 for Special Olympics — yes, that’s a lot, but it’s for a great cause! The Special Olympics organization is lifechanging for its athletes. Don’t we all want to live in a more inclusive world where all people are celebrated?

To be honest, the Super Plunge has been on my bucket list but I never believed I would follow through with it. The fundraising seemed too daunting, and the daring feat seemed too overwhelming. But now I'm casting self-doubt to the wind and dedicating myself to being the philanthropist/daredevil I'm meant to be.

So far, at three weeks into my fundraising efforts, I'm at 20% of my goal. Want to help me get all the way there? Here's a link to my fundraising page. Stay tuned for more updates as I get closer to reaching my goal.
